3. Birla Mandir

4. Govardhan Hill

Also referred as Giri Raj, the Govardhan Hill is situated outside Mathura, 22 km from Vrindavan, to be precise. As per the sacred text Bhagwat Gita, Lord Krishn mentioned that Govardhan Parvat is the same as him, that means worshipping the hill means worshipping Lord Krishn directly. All the rocks on the hill are like idols and devotees worships the pure rocks of the hill like they worship idols. The hill is around 80 ft tall and spread across 38 km. Lord Krishn, in his childhood, lifted this hill on his pinkie finger to save the villagers from furious rain and thunderstorm. After that incident, he told the villagers to always worship the hill, and hence every year Govardhan Puja festival is celebrated after Diwali.
